Post-field School/Early Fall Update

The past few weeks have been busy to say the least. Field School was amazing. I have absolutely zero regrets going.
We found some great artifacts in the site (Including pipe bowls, a derringer, several intact patent medicine bottles, and a set of ivory dentures just to name a few things). Furthermore, made some wonderful friends and memories. Jason, Tessa, John, Gheri, Bekah, Christopher and Mariel; you guys are awesome and I miss you all. When you're actually out in the field, everyone becomes like a family.
I think my favorite memory is drinking whisky and watching the meteor shower on Boot Hill.
We made headlines literally across the country (We were in an Iowa newspaper) and almost every major local newspaper covered some aspect of the excavation. Here are a few links, if you're interested in learning more about our project.
We ended the week with Tessa and I getting personally invited to high tea and the Grand Victorian Ball. Tessa and I got all gussied up in period costume and had a ton of fun.
I literally had one week to get ready for Fall semester. Adjusting has been hard, especially when you got used to the crappy plastic mattress's in the Bonanza and coming back to a big, non-crinkly bed. I have my Halloween plans being formulated (trying to get Steve to go as Doctor Strange).
But I'm really happy to report that things are going smoothly. I'm not on here as much as I'd like to be due to a creative drought and time constraints. I do have a tumblr with a decent sized post queue. And I check it relatively regularly.
Also, I have another new phone number, but I'm keeping this one close to my chest.

Field School

Oh gosh.
I'm only a week in and I'm having such an awesome time, even if I am pretty badly sunburnt and brown.
We start pretty early and pack it in right before the heat of the day, so I've been getting up at 4:30-5:00 every morning. With tagging and bagging all of the finds, we usually don't get done until about after 5:00 p.m.. This makes for a pretty long day, but I can pretty much fill out the artifact forms in my sleep by now.
We have some pretty luxurious accommodations; bunk beds with plastic covered mattresses. But the indoor plumbing is where it's at. it's pretty damn sexy and I have very few complaints. Hell, there's even internet. I REALLY can't complain there.
Except I'm pretty fairly sure the building is haunted. It's the Bonanza Hotel in Virginia City, MT. Look it up. Each one of my classmates has had some kind of weird shit happen to us. But it makes for an exciting time.
We pass the time getting piss drunk. Everyone does. Including the professors.
Especially the professors.
My liver just has to put up with another two weeks of this.
And I may have an internship with the textiles department at the museum this fall.

Debunking Slander

Now this is my somewhat official announcement as far as the whole 'drama' thing goes.
1) I did not hack his Facebook, as he alleges. If the police were to seize my computer, and any computer within my vicinity, this would be proven.
2) I've been trying to leave him without any drama involved, so there's no logical way I'd resort to hacking and drama whoring. I just want him out of my life and done so that we can both move on without any string or nasty complications.
3) I did NOT post that article (here reportaffairs.com/view-affairs…) on report affairs. Again, if the police were to open an investigation, I'd be cleared.
4) I have no less than five separate witnesses that can verify that I asked him, repeatedly, to leave me alone, and he reacted violently as well as open and unabashedly posting my name and various accounts on Facebook and inciting spiteful and misdirected behavior towards me.
This will all be cleared up soon. I will be opening an investigation to clear my name (and hopefully put an end to his bullshit and manipulation) on Monday as soon as the rest of the reports arrive from various sources. I'm looking forward to putting this whole thing behind me and moving on, something that I'm sure he and I can BOTH agree to.

This is my officially unofficial public statement for the entire situation:
All I can say is that it's about fucking time.
I have tried to put this in motion for the past year, but every time I was circumvented by that dickbag's fangirls.
I'm infinitely relived this had been blown open.
I put up with the abuse for far too long, and now I don't have to suffer quietly anymore.
I've spent the past few months trying to get my voice back, trying to stand up against everything he's ever done wrong to people.
I tried to address the entire situation with him personally in the past, which involved taking him aside and talking to him about it with as much patience as a student of Letters and Science can muster. There were moments where he would seem to understand, but after a while, he'd just slip back into his old ways.
Reasoning doesn't work on him.
In my experience, ignoring him is the best bet. He wants people to hate him. Haters bring attention. And he NEEDS attention. Don't give him what he wants.
On a side-note, I'm sorry I've been more or less absent from DA over the past month. I start field school in less than a week (and I leave for the actual archaeological aspect in three weeks), and there's been a lot of personal stuff going on (OBVIOUSLY).
